Advertising Policy

Advertising policy for GovAwardData.com — how ads would be placed, which pages are eligible, and the brand-safety and user-experience rules we follow.

Draft template — not legal advice. Counsel review required before launch.

Current state

No advertising is enabled. GovAwardData.com currently displays no ads and loads no advertising scripts. The information below describes how advertising would work if it is enabled in the future.

Advertisements may appear on eligible pages when advertising is enabled. We do not place ads above the primary data on a page, inside data tables, or in ways designed to cause accidental clicks. See our advertising policy.

Where ads may appear

If enabled, ads would appear only on eligible pages, determined by an automated page-level eligibility and brand-safety system. Ads would never appear:

  • above the primary data (the fact table) on a detail page;
  • inside data tables;
  • on search results or query pages;
  • on privacy, terms, contact, or corrections pages;
  • on pages classified as sensitive (for example, weapons, ammunition, or explosives procurement categories).

User-experience rules

  • No pop-ups, interstitials, or auto-playing video ads.
  • No sticky ads by default.
  • Reserved space to avoid layout shift.
  • Ads clearly labeled and visually distinct from content.
  • No placement designed to cause accidental clicks.
  • No language encouraging clicks; we never ask you to click ads.

Advertising partners and cookies

If we work with an advertising network (such as Google AdSense or a managed partner), those vendors may use cookies for ad delivery and measurement, including personalized ads where permitted and consented to. Details and opt-out information will be added here and in the cookie policy before ads are enabled.

Independence

Advertising does not influence the factual data we present. The site exists to make public federal award data easy to look up; advertising, if enabled, supports that work but does not shape the records shown.
